Description
A Bias Tee allows DC power to be diplexer with an RF signal and fed up a coaxial feed line to a device that can accept power via coaxial input. In the satellite communication industry a Bias Tee is typically used to power a Block Up Converter (BUC). A critical element of a Bias Tees design is to ensure that DC power is sent in a specific direction to protect the modem or modulator connected in the reverse direction of where the DC power is being drawn. VSAT DC Block has been designed to block any incoming DC on an L band system and insert any DC voltage upto 48V @ 5A.
A Bias Tee is a simple and economical method of providing power to a BUC because it can be installed indoors and the DC power is fed over the length of the coaxial cable to the BUC. Our X1601 Bias Tee can pass up to 6 amps of current allowing most BUCs under 25 Watts to be powered. Requires soldering due to high current specification.
