Digital Satellite Modems

The CDD-562L is a companion product to the CDD-564L and CDD-564. The CDD-562L receives two, independent L-Band channels and combines them into a single, network-ready, 10/100BaseT Ethernet port. The two demodulators, integral router and IP Module are housed in a 1RU chassis. These products are designed to operate with Comtech EF Data’s IP-enabled product line, including modems and performance enhancement proxies.

The CDD-564 and CDD-564L are the first integrated quad IP demodulators, capable of receiving 4 independent 70/140 MHz or L-Band channels respectively and combining the output into a single 10/100BaseT Ethernet port for transmission onto the LAN. The 4 demodulators and the integrated IP Module are housed in a 1RU chassis. CDD-564/L is designed to operate with Comtech EF Data’s IP-enabled products including modems and Performance Enhancement Proxies.

The CDM-710G High-Speed Satellite Modem provides transmission of data using the same powerful DVB-S21 techniques developed for video delivery in Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) applications. It operates over satellite links with programmable symbol / data rates up to 45 Msps.

The modulation types supported include DVB-S2 QPSK, 8-PSK, 16-APSK and 32-APSK. Constant Coding and Modulation (CCM) operation with a single input stream is provided. The unit is available in modulator only, demodulator only, and modem configurations.

Comtech EF Data is pleased to announce the introduction and general availability of the CDM-750 High-Speed Trunking Modem. It is the first modem to combine DVB-S2, Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) and DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier technologies. This new trunking modem provides efficiencies and throughput that will benefit even the most demanding point-to-point and backhaul links.

CDM-Qx and CDM-QxL are the first satellite modems to offer Double Talk Carrier-in-Carrier bandwidth compression capability that allows transmit and receive carriers of a full-duplex satellite link to share the same transponder space.

Comtech EF Data’s SLM-5650A Satellite Modem is compliant with the strict requirements defined in MIL-STD-188-165A, modem types I, II, IV, V and VI for applications on DSCS, WGS and commercial satellites. Data rates from 64 kbps to 155 Mbps and symbol rates from 32 ksps to 64 Msps are supported.

The modem provides standard MIL-STD-188-114 (EIA-530 / RS-422), and EIA-613 (HSSI) serial interfaces, and can be optionally configured to support G.703 and Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) serial interfaces. It can also optionally be equipped with a 4-port 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet Network Processor module that supports switching, routing and advanced Quality of Service protocols.
